Smart Team — Foot Mobile Engineer (City of London)

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Foot Mobile Engineer to work on an exciting contract across five commercial buildings in the City of London. This role includes a Zone 1 & 2 Travelcard as part of the package.

Purpose

As a Foot Mobile Engineer, your core duties include:

  • Conducting PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance), reactive, and breakdown works across all Electrical/Mechanical systems within allocated sites.
  • Demonstrating expertise in Air Conditioning, UPS, Generators, and LV systems, including fault-finding using graphical information and alarm data.
  • Operating and managing engineering assets to prevent unplanned disruptions while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Managing reactive works to ensure timely responses and closure of requests under agreed procedures.
  • Developing management tools to monitor asset/building performance and propose improvements.

Work Pattern

  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00 – 17:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM on all electrical and mechanical plant in line with site schedules and asset lists.
  • Execute reactive tasks across buildings and proactively identify improvements. May include concessionary stores and fabric-related work.
  • Ensure faults and defects are resolved promptly to maintain plant functionality in a serviceable condition.
  • Manage spare parts stock levels for planned and reactive maintenance while providing inventories and remediation estimates.
  • Update the Computer-Based Maintenance System (e.g., Concept, Smart Hub) with accurate details for PPM and reactive tickets.
  • Complete and submit all documentation for reactive and breakdown works on time.
  • Follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments, ensuring safe working practices.
  • Maintain plant rooms under Smart’s responsibility as secure, clean, and locked at all times.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 Electrical Installations (or equivalent).
  • 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations certified.
