Job Description
Role Summary Supporting CFS operations in lab excellence, leadership, and process optimisation, your responsibilities will include:
- Operational Leadership: Leading the Forensic Support Hub (FSH) to ensure ISO accreditation compliance.
- Process Improvement: Align guidance and workflows with Microsoft 365 stack and HMRC policies.
- Internal & External Coordination: Matching secure service delivery for a diverse client base (inter-disciplinary teams, FOIs, external vendors) across landscaped security parameters.
- Training Support: Facilitating upskilling for technical and specialist skills within the team.
- HR Support: Managing line-management duties for officers across the team.
- Flexibility & Mobility: Adapting to journey demands across HMRC sites enhance operational objectivity.

- Develop and sustain working relationships with internal/externals to optimise operational efficiency.
- Remain agile—quickly acquainting with new systems, technologies, and regulatory basics.

- Champion FSH’s ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) compliance patching.

Training & Knowledge Shared:
- Update customer-facing SharePoint and intranet materials, refining audience engagement through evolving office tools, while galvanising awareness of ethical/regulatory mindsets.

Instrumental Support:
- Liaise with Finance and commercial teams to embed seamless systems and practices aligned with workflows and standards.
