Clinical Leadership & Associate Consultant Role in Low Secure Mental Health Service
The Wheatfield Unit provides a patient pathway through low secure mental health services for adult male patients (18–65) who have been identified with major and complex mental health needs. Referrals are received from:
- Countywide acute psychiatric services
- Community mental health teams
- Other secure services/prisons throughout the country
The client demographic includes:
- Adult males aged 18–65
- Patients subject to Part 3 of the Mental Health Act, including Restricted patients
Wheatfield Unit maintains a close working relationship with the adjacent ward, Meadowbank, and the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

About the Role
Provide clinical leadership, taking clinical responsibility for the assessment and treatment of patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and conducting clinical sessions at a prison as a senior clinician and leader within that service
- Supporting decision-making and treatment pathways for patients requiring low secure care
