£38570.67 per annum

This is a Part time (7.5hrs per week) fixed term position, for 12 months initially and with a possibility to extend if additional funding is confirmed.

Forensic Mental Health Practitioner - Remote

The Criminal Justice service is seeking a Forensic Mental Health Practitioner within a newly acquired service to provide:

  • Consultation with probation practitioners and/or NACRO & PACT frontline workers
  • Assessments
  • 1:1 psychologically informed intervention

This can be offered as part of a secondment and will not impact on your substantive role.

This role is remote and will be supporting the NACRO/PACT contract delivering in Northamptonshire. There may be occasional travel to Northamptonshire delivery sites, but these will be covered through expenses.

You will draw on a range of evidence-based approaches including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • mindfulness
  • psychoeducation

Adapting these to meet individual need.

You will work collaboratively with delivery staff, probation practitioners, and wider partner agencies to deliver holistic, coordinated support for People on Probation.

This Includes Contributing To a Psychologically Informed Environment By:

  • facilitating case consultations
  • offering guidance to enhance colleagues’ confidence and skills in supporting individuals with mental health needs

As a Successful Candidate You Will Be Able To:

  • Assess mental health and social care needs and develop holistic support plans
  • Empower individuals to lead on their support plan
  • Deliver low-intensity, psychological informed interventions (e.g. psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, CBT-informed approaches and compassion focused therapy)
  • Contribute to the prevention and management of harmful and violent behaviour
  • Support individuals to build self-esteem and increase motivation
  • Dynamically assess and manage risk, sharing relevant information with partner agencies
