Forensic Consultant

A forensic consultant will be able to guide clients through forensic data collection, processing, and analysis of data generated by systems used in today’s large corporations. They will be a subject matter expert in the field of digital forensics for both clients and internal stakeholders at Lineal. They will be comfortable through all aspects of digital investigations involving PCs, Mobile Phones, Servers, and Cloud systems. They will work as part of the Lineal team striving for excellence, with a drive to be the best. Candidates should have experience in presenting to clients, including face-to-face. With excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with both Forensic & Evidence Handling teams assisting with daily lab operations to meet client expectations.
  • Conduct data collection from a wide range of systems and applications in a forensically sound manner.
  • Take ownership of a forensic project and lead it through all steps of a digital forensic investigation.
  • Communicate and consult with our clients through all channels of communication, including face-to-face, on forensic best practices and industry standards.
  • Work with all internal business units to build and maintain a high level of client success.

Education & Experience

  • Educated to degree-level in either forensics or computer science.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as ACE, EnCE, CCPA, CCME, CISSP.
  • At least 2+ years’ experience working in either digital forensics or an eDiscovery role, preferably with client-facing exposure.
  • At least 2+ years’ experience conducting forensic collections from PC, Server, Network, Webmail, Social Media, and O365 sources.

Competencies

  • Demonstrate the ability to forensically collect data from various systems and platforms.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as FTK, EnCase, Cellebrite, Caine, DEFT.
  • Familiar with eDiscovery processes and the EDRM model.
  • Strong technical ability with various computer systems, both hardware and software.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Strong analytical approach to problem-solving.

Additional Requirements & Desires

  • Willing to travel for business-related purposes, globally. On occasion, this can be at short notice.
  • Experience in project scoping and formulating project plans (desired).
  • Experience with processing & review platforms, including Nuix, Relativity, Intella (desired).
