FLT Driver / General Operative – Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Asda Import Centre, Dabholm Rd, Middlesbrough, TS6 7RU

The Role
We’re recruiting an experienced FLT Driver / General Operative to operate forklifts, manage stock rotation, and support production and hauler operations at our Asda Import Centre (Middlesbrough). You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining smooth workflows while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate FLT trucks safely to support production lines and haulier operations, including vacuum lift tasks
- Direct visiting vehicles during loading and unloading procedures
- Organise and sort stocks to correct CHEP standards, following specified guidelines
- Maintain forklifts and equipment—report issues (e.g., damages, faults) promptly
- Handle and store company hire stock in accordance with rotation policies
- Ensure smooth production line workflow within agreed SLAs (Service Level Agreements)

Requirements
Essential:
✅ Proven experience in a fast-paced warehouse/yard environment ✅ Minimum 2 years’ experience operating counterbalance forklifts ✅ Valid External FLT Licence (RTITB / ITSSAR) up to 5 tons (B1) or equivalent ✅ Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with hauliers and team members
Desirable:
✅ Reach forklift qualification wanting to add to your skillset ✅ RTITB Forklift Training experience ✅ Exemplary safety consciousness and ability to meet quality standards
