Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver
Wynnstay Group is seeking a reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver to support the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution activities at Astley.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Supervisor, you will carry out a variety of warehouse duties, including picking orders for distribution to Wynnstay stores, receiving and storing incoming goods, loading and unloading vehicles, supporting stock control activities and maintaining accurate warehouse documentation.
You will play an important role in ensuring orders are picked accurately, safely and within the required timescales.
You will also operate Forklift Trucks as required, ensuring all goods are handled, stored and transported in accordance with site procedures and health and safety standards.
The role requires a proactive and organised individual who can work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative. You will be comfortable undertaking manual handling activities, working outdoors when required and maintaining accuracy within a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and prepare orders for distribution to Wynnstay stores, recording quantities and identifying any unavailable stock.
- Collate and complete order paperwork, including documentation relating to warehouse and yard picks.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload delivery vehicles, checking incoming and outgoing goods and completing the required documentation.
- Receive and put away incoming goods, ensuring pallets are clearly identified and stock is stored in the correct warehouse location.
- Ensure chemicals and hazardous goods are stored safely and in accordance with relevant procedures and COSHH requirements.
- Identify and report damaged, out-of-date or incorrectly recorded stock to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Operate Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Trucks safely and in accordance with site procedures and relevant safety standards.
- Support stocktaking activities and help maintain accurate warehouse and inventory records.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised warehouse environment, ensuring working areas remain safe and free from hazards.
- Carry out manual handling activities safely, using the correct techniques and Personal Protective Equipment.
- Assist with spillages and other health and safety activities in accordance with site procedures and training.
- Provide a friendly, courteous and professional service to warehouse customers, colleagues and delivery drivers.
- Follow all Wynnstay policies, procedures and health and safety requirements, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve warehouse, distribution and performance targets.

What we’re looking for:
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
- A valid Reach Forklift Truck Licence or similar relevant qualification.
- Ability to undertake manual handling activities, including lifting products weighing up to 25kg.
- Ability to pick and prepare orders accurately while working at the pace required to meet distribution deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently using your own initiative.
- Good communication skills and the ability to provide a professional service to colleagues and customers.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing or agricultural environment.
- Experience of order picking, goods receiving, vehicle loading and unloading or stock control activities.
- Knowledge of COSHH requirements and the safe storage and handling of chemicals or hazardous goods.
- Familiarity with warehouse stock locations, inventory systems or scanning equipment.
