Job Description 🦺 Full-Time, Permanent Forklift Operator – Join Our Brand-New State-of-the-Art Hub! 📦 Location: Swadlincote Shift: Monday–Friday Nights (start times from 18:00) Rate: £15.75 per hour + bonuses 📦 What You’ll Be Doing: Operate LPG counterbalance forklift trucks to safely load and unload palletised freight in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment. Use forklift-mounted scanning technology to accurately record freight movements and ensure traceability across the network. Maintain precise handling and placement of goods, following scanning and labelling procedures to support efficient hub operations. Report directly to the Team Leader, working collaboratively with colleagues to meet nightly performance targets. Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, adhering to all site protocols and proactively identifying and reporting risks or unsafe practices. Conduct daily pre-use checks on equipment and promptly escalate any faults or maintenance needs. Contribute to a positive team culture, showing respect, reliability, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with company standards to support operational efficiency and safety. Support cross-functional tasks when required, such as assisting with freight checks, bay organisation, or liaising with admin teams to ensure smooth operational flow. Qualifications 📝 What We’re Looking For: Valid forklift licence (RTITB or equivalent), Ideally with at least 1 years’ experience. Experience operating gas or diesel counterbalance trucks preferred; electric truck experience will also be considered. Good literacy and numeracy skills – essential for paperwork and freight handling. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Team player with a flexible and reliable approach. Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to changing schedules. Additional Information 💼 What You’ll Receive: £15.75/hour base rate. Overtime at time and a quarter (1.25x). Monthly performance bonus of up to £120. 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), Increasing following 3 years service.
