Hours: Full time (41.5 hours)
Monday to Friday (8:00am-5:15pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-3:00pm Friday)

The Forklift Driver Warehouse Operative Role
As a Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative working for Suttons Performance Packaging (part of Macfarlane Group), you'll play an important part in ensuring materials, stock and customer orders move safely, accurately and efficiently through our busy warehouse operation.
Working closely with our Production, Logistics and Transport teams, you'll be responsible for receiving, storing, picking and despatching stock whilst maintaining excellent inventory accuracy and ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and in full.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. Alongside warehouse duties, you'll also support our recycling operation, undertake stock checks and occasionally make local deliveries using a company vehicle. Above all, you'll help us maintain the high standards of quality, customer service and Health & Safety that our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive, store, pick, load and despatch stock accurately to meet customer requirements.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklift trucks and pallet trucks (where licensed).
- Maintain accurate stock records using our inventory management systems.
- Complete warehouse transactions and associated documentation accurately and promptly.
- Carry out regular stock counts and support inventory control activities.
- Support the recycling operation by collecting production waste and preparing recyclable materials for onward collection.
- Work collaboratively with Production and Transport teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.
- Follow all Health & Safety, quality and operational procedures at all times.
- Report any safety concerns, stock discrepancies or operational issues promptly.
- Undertake occasional local deliveries using a company vehicle when required.
- Support colleagues across the wider operation and undertake other reasonable duties as required.
What You Will Bring
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and takes pride in delivering high standards of accuracy, teamwork and customer service. In addition we’re ideally seeking:-
- Previous warehouse experience (ideally around two years or more).
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift licence (B1) and FLT experience (ideally around two years or more).
- A full UK driving licence.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience using warehouse or inventory management systems.
- Good IT literacy together with Maths and English to GCSE level (or equivalent).
- A sound understanding of Health & Safety within a warehouse environment.
- The ability to prioritise work, use your own initiative and remain organised during busy periods.
- A flexible approach and willingness to support different areas of the operation as required.

It Would Also Be Advantageous If You Have
- A valid Powered Pallet Truck (A3 PPT) licence.
- Experience working within the packaging, manufacturing or industrial consumables sector.
