About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Former Tenant and Sundry Debt Officer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is focused on managing all aspects of sundry debt (including court costs and rechargeable repairs), handling account credits and refunds, and providing key council tax administration support, alongside recovering former tenancy debt.

The ideal candidate will be tenacious with a keen eye for detail, balancing empathy and compassion to agree on realistic, sustainable repayment plans while maintaining a proactive approach to maximise overall income recovery.

You'll play a vital role in streamlining our debt management processes, maintaining compliance, and supporting our wider Income function.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Maximise income across all sundry debt accounts—including garage accounts, rechargeable repairs, and court costs subject to a court order—by negotiating affordable repayment plans.
  • Investigate accounts with large credit balances to ensure compliance with money laundering regulations, process credit refunds, and prepare write-off requests in line with the Former Tenancy Procedure.
  • Support the Council Tax Officer with the administration and verification of council tax invoices for timely payment, and liaise directly with Local Authorities to resolve queries and challenge invoices where necessary.
  • Locate and contact former tenants using a variety of contact methods to negotiate affordable repayment of outstanding debt.
  • Work collaboratively with external partners, agencies, and internal departments to resolve customer disputes, handle queries, and optimise income collection.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
