Forward Deployed Engineer
Forward Deployed Engineer Early-Stage AI Startup • Builders ⚡
The startup you're joining is revolutionising retail and consumer workflows by automating labour-intensive processes. With £20m+ raised in seed funding and customers already using the product, this is a business ready for rapid growth—not a prototype stage.
About the Role
We’re looking for Forward Deployed Engineers with a rare blend of technical prowess and customer-facing flair. You’ll act as the bridge between customer needs and product engineering, embedding solutions that drive measurable value—fast.
Your work will bridge the gap between concept and adoption. Expect to:
- Design, build, and deploy AI agents in live environments, ensuring seamless integration across customer tools, software, and applications.
- Own the delivery lifecycle from initial scoping through to go-live, collaborating with LLMs, agent frameworks, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems to debug and refine solutions.
- Work closely with customers across the UK/EU, advising on integrations and translating business needs into technical reality.
A perfect fit for someone who thrives in a entrepreneurial environment, can navigate both code and coffee chats with ease, and enjoys solving complex, real-world problems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
