Forward Deployed Engineer | AI Agents / LLM / MCP

Salary: €120,000 - €205,000 + competitive equity Contract: Full-time, Permanent Working Model: Remote (UK/EU-based) with frequent forward deployment to customer sites across Europe, fully expensed


🚨 Non-Negotiables – Apply Only If You Meet All the Following 🚨

Core Experience:

  • 5+ years as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar hands-on delivery role
  • Focus on AI-first startups or project-based consulting firms
  • Experience deploying agentic/AI systems into production in customer environments, with hands-on work on MCPs and APIs
  • Ownership of the full delivery lifecycle: scoping, build, and go-live
  • Startup or high-growth startup consultants (early-stage!—excludes Big 4 purchases)

Hard Skills:

  • Strong expertise with LLMs, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, and evaluation
  • Competence in writing integration glue code (Python, JavaScript, SQL, APIs)

What You'll Deliver

🤖 Automation Engineering

  • Design, build, and ship AI agents tailored to customer systems (ERPs, S/4HANA, Serverless email, SharePoint tools, spreadsheets)
  • Debug and iterate live agents in production, documenting lessons and optimising business outcomes

🚀 Delivery Ownership

  • Analyze and redesign flawed workflows before automation—map requirements to agent workflows, exception handling, fallbacks, and decision paths
  • Manage the customer relationship end-to-end from scope refinements through to upsell opportunities

🤝 Collaboration

  • Feed real-world insights back into product and engineering—contribute reusable code patterns, diplomacies, and runbooks for future deployments

👥 Reverse Engineering of Verticals

  • Deep background in retail/e-commerce or supply-chain workflow puzzles
  • Sharp customer conversations—translate to measurable outcomes using data/commercial logic
  • Track record for upselling product via live delivery engagements

Bonus Experience

✔️ Prior RAG/Retrieval experience ✔️ Multi enterprise-vertical automation delivery ✔️ Proven ROI boxes at scale beyond single customers

Not an Ideal Fit If You

❌ Focused strictly on Big Tech enterprise sales disablements or non-product, hands-off advice ❌ Pre-sales / demo specialists or advisory project than contributor ❌ A recent graduate without direct deployment experience ❌ Ex-founder who “just closed the $XYZ round” and never installed/FDE’d/debugged in a live customer
