Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) • Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to sit at the core of enterprise transformation engagements, directly embedding with client teams to:
- Redesign workflows,
- Establish operating models, and
- Drive technology adoption.
This is a highly hands-on, consultative role where you will:
- Conduct organizational diagnostics,
- Rapidly build functional, AI-powered proofs of concept to demonstrate real-world value, and
- Accelerate business adoption with measurable ROI.
The ideal candidate is a proactive diagnostician and builder who blends management consulting expertise with the technical capability to ship working prototypes autonomously.
Responsibilities
- Map current-state workflows end-to-end to diagnose root causes of operational friction, including:
- Handoff failures,
- Governance gaps, and
- Tooling mismatches.
- Redesign target-state operations for:
- Leaner workflows,
- Clearer decision rights, and
- Effective human-agent collaboration to accelerate throughput using AI.
- Design comprehensive operating models, including:
- Organizational structure,
- Roles,
- Governance,
- Cross-functional interaction models, and
- Value realization frameworks.
- Establish performance baselines and build measurement frameworks to track improvement continuously.
- Identify value gaps in stalled implementations, diagnosing where:
- Technology deployment has outpaced business adoption, and
- Restoring the path to ROI.
- Build working, AI-powered prototypes using:
- LLM APIs,
- Platform-native features, and
- Low-code/no-code environments to create functional solutions.
- Use demos to drive stakeholder alignment directly within client processes.
- Advise clients on realistic AI integration, distinguishing between enhancements and distractions.
- Support rollout of new tools and workflows through process design and change management.
- Design enablement materials to ensure technology implementations align with intended operating models.
- Assist in scoping engagements and conducting diagnostic assessments for:
- Value capture,
- Implementation readiness, and
- Adoption strategy.
- Contribute reusable frameworks and tools that improve:
- Practice qualification and
- Engagement scoping.

Qualifications and Job Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience in:
- Management consulting, or
- Equivalent roles within enterprise technology, SaaS, or professional services.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following:
- Organizational design,
- Operating model transformation,
- Change management,
- Technology enablement,
- Process engineering, or
- Go-to-market execution.
- Proven ability to:
- Build structured, evidence-based arguments to influence senior stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience:
- Building functional AI-powered workflows,
- Automations, and
- Prototype delivery.
- Ability to:
- Rapidly scope and build working proofs of concept within client constraints.
- Experience working:
- Autonomously without dedicated engineering teams,
- Knowing when to build solutions independently and when to escalate.
- Strong diagnostic mindset, emphasizing root-cause analysis over immediate solutions.
- Deep accountability for actual outcomes and measurable impact over static deliverables.
- Preference for experimental validation (e.g., building prototypes) over traditional roadmaps.
- Capability to operate:
- Forward-deployed, alongside client engineers,
- Product leads, and
- Operators.
