Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Transformation) London £130,000-£150,000 + Benefits
We’re working with a founder-led private equity firm undergoing a major AI-driven transformation across its investment and portfolio operations. The business has already embraced LLMs and agentic tooling, and is now moving from experimentation to production-scale deployment with strong executive sponsorship.
They are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to sit at the centre of this transformation.
The Role
You will work directly with senior stakeholders and investment teams to identify, design, and build AI-enabled workflows that materially improve how the business operates.
This is a hands-on delivery role — not advisory.
You’ll operate across: AI use case discovery in live business processes Design of LLM/agent-based workflows (Claude / OpenAI ecosystem) Rapid prototyping through to production deployment Integration into existing enterprise systems (Microsoft stack, investment platforms, CRM tools) Governance, security, and compliance alignment (including EU regulatory constraints) Capability transfer into internal teams over time

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
