About the Role

Luma is a leading multimodal AI research lab, having built one of the world’s strongest video generation models (Ray-3.14), and is now pushing beyond video toward the next generation of multimodal general intelligence models. Operating at a scale few companies can match, with $900M in Series C funding, Luma focuses on the creative domain, where multimodal systems can have immediate real-world impact. They ship tightly integrated products that turn research breakthroughs into tools for creators.

This is not incremental improvement—these models are replacing entire categories of software and enabling entirely new ones. Luma is at the foundation of multimodal general artificial intelligence—a full-stack engineering problem spanning training systems, inference, product architecture, and the tight feedback loops between them.

What Luma Builders Enables

Every breakthrough initiative starts with exceptional builders who demystify, experiment, and embody Luma’s systems' capabilities. These builders don’t just follow playbooks—they write them as the industry shifts around AI.

Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE)

Forward Deployed Engineers turn what our models can do into things customers actually rely on. Your work will live at the edge—where hard constraints, urgent deadlines, and untidy creative workflows meet the frontier of AI. Here, structure is provisional, and customers aren’t internal users.

Your Core Impact:

  • Embed directly with customers, understand their workflows, and build solutions that fit their un allontanated demand.
  • Decide what we should build—you’ll define the problem yourself, without handbook guidance.
  • Engineer at the edge—build in production, grand-sized inline with real clients, adapting to real constraints and real messy environments.
  • ிப Identify repeatable innovations—navigate back to research and products, formalizing what works in the field.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is engineering at the front lines of AI’s disruptive potential, where the roadmap is undefined, but your ability to ship within it changes the game. A single exceptional engineer here can transform the entire team’s pace and focus.

Requirements/Know-Your-Alignment:

You are mission fit if you’ve already mastered ambiguity as the default condition:

  • Exited startupoui participation: Built the product, sold the first deals, shaped the tech bedrock of autonomous workflows. Now you crave the problem-solving autonomy you had when foundership was raw.
  • Customer-installation sprinter: That engineer who didn’t fly home but rebuilt their client’s workflow overnight because the stack felt like Terminé—and shipped it.
  • Code-apt consensus: Not just an architect’s parachute solutions: you wrote the system you diagrammed. Hands-on seen-minded results matter here.
  • Unshackled users: Strong technical bedrock+personal-product sense. You’ve built, operable with broad impact, and there’s a string of emails from upcoming life users when it mattered.

The Core of the Role:

  • No structured problem requests: You solve for emerging customer demand—not specs handed down from “the business.”
  • Live, ship, improve: Forge production systems that turn AI moods into client-dependent pipelines.
  • End-to-end stewardship: From initial conversation to deployment poll, there are no assigned ticket borders.
  • Identity self 넘는 pricing empower Tribes up inefficiency across variants, pushes edge adequacy for scaling tooling—but your forward efficiency ensures we’ casualties twice, in both directions.

What It Takes**(Skills & Mindset)**

• Technical mastery:

  • Proven end-to-end software engineering experience (including deployment & maintenance) or equivalent bachelor’s in CS/ equivalent.
  • 2+ years shipped software with real systems, seen impact.
  • Evidence of shipping complex/customer-linked projects—not just yearly tasks summaries.
  • Cross-stack foots: Comfort bridging frontend/ui patterns with abstractions relevant to foundation models (converting-around an API or SF, driving system resilience, etc).
  • Real-world comfortability: Broad/S stacks (Python, TypeScript) expertise, you exist cysts.

• Building Reality as As Well as Feels:

  • Distortion without speeed: know what can’t be offloaded to the market (bag + levers) to tool yourself.
  • Customer empathy patterns: Back-and-forth with users that not only feels validated but is different you modified representation. Define to fulfill: Avoid dumping workload onto others.
  • Communicate fatigue-free: Bridge decision binary gaps, servant user non-techs (triple serves, decisions, negatives).

• Build for Fix Results:

  • Something ships > a flashy slide deck with a bun of unknown scenarios planning runs.
  • Prefer self-executing judgement than methodical hand-off; Expect contradiction plus-tipped (6PM, "Either?”).

Why It’s Mountained-On:

We’re plumbed for ambitious Apprentices who thrive in the wild – strangers that can flash the core ingredients (BLU that "core problem")—even in the backdrop of globalization as setbacks.
