Forward Deployed Engineer - London
Permant Role - £140,000

This is working for a UK-based company developing and operationally deploying advanced Machine Learning and AI technologies for the defence sector. Having recently closed a significant funding round, they are scaling fast, with new contracts now confirmed and more in the pipeline.
Their work spans dual-use technologies integrating AI with sensor data across the electromagnetic spectrum (EO/IR, SAR, RADAR, RF) supporting next-generation situational awareness and mission-critical systems.
The Role
We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with end clients, embedding at their sites to understand real operational problems and translate them into deployable ML solutions. When you're not travelling, you'll be working from home.

This is a hands-on, R&D-adjacent role - you'll be close to cutting-edge deep learning work, including Spiking Neural Networks, and expected to move fast between prototyping and deployment.
What you'll be doing
- Working on-site with clients to scope, build, and iterate on ML solutions to their problems
- R&D and implementation of deep learning models, with particular interest in Spiking Neural Networks
- Building and deploying using Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow (RL experience a plus)
- Travelling to client offices as required; WFH otherwise

What we're looking for
- Strong deep learning background; exposure to or interest in Spiking Neural Networks
- Proficient in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Comfortable working independently in client-facing environments
- Active UK SC clearance required (DV desirable for some engagements)
Contract
- Duration: [6 or 12 months, likely extendable]
- IR35 status: [to be confirmed]
- Location: Remote-based with travel to client sites across the UK
