About This Role
This is not a consulting role, nor a project delivery one—it is a production-focused position. A Forward Deployed AI Engineer (FDE) embeds directly into a client’s enterprise, working side-by-side with their teams to operationalise complex AI platforms within real, dynamic environments. Your focus is on delivering measurable results: time-to-value, adoption, reliability, and scalability—not just milestones.
The market is realising what leading tech companies have proven: AI fails to deliver because deployment is broken, not due to weak models. The gap between a successful pilot and a scalable AI capability is bridged by engineers capable of translating platform potential into tangible business impact.
FDEs form the execution spine of our Reinvention Deployment Engineering teams. We are scaling this capability across the services industry, and engineers joining now will help define the role at scale—working on the most complex enterprise AI problems across industries.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end AI transformation for an entire client enterprise, from platform selection and architectural design through to scale-wide adoption and reinvention
- Hold full accountability for deployment outcomes at the account level, including time-to-value, reliability, adoption, and ROI—directly reported to client executive leadership
- Resolve ambiguity at scale by translating executive-level strategy into production AI systems operating throughout the organisation
- Define and implement enterprise AI architecture standards and governance frameworks, covering identity management, data, security, multi-platform integration, and AI lifecycle operations
- Own the relationship with the client’s CTO, CFO, and CISO, shaping AI investment strategy, board-level discussions, and long-term reinvention roadmaps
- Develop reusable patterns and playbooks that establish industry-leading practices for enterprise AI reinvention—assets that scale across markets, industries, and our global FDE practice
- Deliver executive workshops, engage at board level, and conduct cross-practice architecture reviews to guide the AI reinvention trajectory for clients
- Define the FDE practice model—including engineering standards, deployment playbooks, talent development frameworks, and capability architecture—that underpins the role at scale

This role requires flexibility and mobility, as you’ll spend time onsite with clients and partners to deliver exceptional services.
Essential Qualifications
- Cloud-native engineering experience: Proficiency with APIs, microservices, containerisation, and serverless architectures
- Advanced expertise in agentic AI solutions: Hands-on experience with agents, orchestration, context engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and workflows in production environments with commercial AI platforms:
- OpenAI, Claude, Vertex AI
- Open-source tools and model integration
- Ability to build abstraction layers for multi-provider pipelines
- Team leadership: Proven track record of leading software engineering teams, including:
- Delivering at scale
- Resource allocation across workstreams
- Ownership of direct reports' professional development
- End-to-end deployment ownership: Must have demonstrated successful client-embedded delivery—internal projects, vendor labs, or standalone deployments do not qualify
- Business value articulation: The ability to quantify AI deployment impact and align them with CFO-level decision criteria
- Stakeholder engagement: Strong track record of presenting to and building trust with senior executives—CTO, CFO, CISO levels
