Foster Carer Opportunity – we offer fostering allowances between £376.96 and £560.48 per child, per week with allowances from £656.96 up to £1140.48 per child per week for specialist foster carers. The allowance includes your fee as a foster carer, in recognition of your skills.

What We Are Looking For In a Foster Carer:
A spare bedroom (or space for a cot) A clean driving licence OR good access to public transport. Someone with lots of love and support to give. Patience, understanding and passion. Ability to be flexible for meetings related to the young person and their development. The ability to support and nurture a child’s development. A role model to teach socially acceptable ways to behave and communicate.

The chance to change a young person’s life Generous allowances when a child is placed in your care Additional allowances for the child’s birthday/ Christmas or festival/ Holiday/ Uniform Bedroom equipment provided A chance to be a part of the Mockingbird Programme A 60% Council Tax discount for all Redbridge Council foster carers once a child is first placed in your care with an additional 20% Council Tax discount (if certain occupancy conditions are met) Regular home visits and support from your own dedicated Supervising Social Worker Out-of-hours support Extensive training and development opportunities to support you as well as a training bonus scheme after your first year as an approved carer Once you are a Redbridge foster carer, you will receive a £1000 referral fee if you refer a friend or family member and they are also approved as a Redbridge foster carer
