Fostering Business Support Manager
Are you an experienced, organised and confident business support professional looking for a role where your work directly contributes to positive outcomes for children, young people and foster families? We have an exciting opportunity for a Fostering Business Support Manager to join our West Country Fostering service, based from any of our West country offices – Plymouth, Truro or Exeter.
About the Role
As Business Support Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the service, providing high-quality administrative, operational and financial oversight to Fostering Managers and the wider fostering team.
This is a varied and busy role where you will:
- Oversee day-to-day office processes
- Support accurate record keeping
- Prepare reports
- Take minutes
- Respond to enquiries
- Provide detailed oversight of financial transactions, including foster carer payments
You will also line manage Senior Business Support Co-ordinators and Business Support Co-ordinators within the area, helping to create a supportive, organised and responsive business support function.

Key Requirements
We are looking for someone who can:
- Work confidently in a fast-paced environment
- Balance competing priorities
- Use their initiative
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, foster carers and external contacts
Essential:
- Strong organisational skills
- Practical communication skills
- Experience of managing a small office-based team
Desirable:
- Experience of working within fostering, children’s services or a regulated care environment

Hours
- 37 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5pm; Friday, 9am – 4.30pm
