Fostering Service Manager – Remote with Cambuslang HQ Travel
Foster Care Associates Scotland (FCAS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fostering Service Manager to develop fostering services and manage a team of social workers across Scotland, with regular travel requirements.
Role Overview
- Job Title: Fostering Service Manager
- Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 annual, dependent on experience
- Location: Remote (with travel to Cambuslang HQ)
- Type: Permanent
- PVG Check Required: Enhanced level post-appointment

The Role
As Fostering Service Manager, you’ll report to the Registered Manager and lead a team of social workers to deliver:

Core Responsibilities
- Retention & Support: Build trust with Foster Parents to enhance retention and satisfaction—ensuring valued, supported experiences.
- Wellbeing & Engagement: Foster a compassionate, trauma-informed culture to support staff and foster families’ emotional wellbeing.
- Commercial Growth: Develop and execute strategies for agency growth, sustainability, and stability.
- Leadership & Team Development: Actively mentor social workers, promote professional growth, and uphold high service standards.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with local authorities, commissioners, and external partners to expand reach and impact.
Requirements & Qualifications
We seek inspiring, compassionate leadership with:
- Essential Criteria:
- Recognised social work qualification + registration with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council).
- Proven experience supervising/staff management, including performance support and skill development.
- Understanding of all relevant Scottish legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures for fostering.
- Small vehicles: Full UK driving licence (car required for travel; company vehicle or £2,000 allowance available).
- Commitment to a trauma-informed, relationship-focused practice.
- Analytical and high-quality written communication for reports.
- Experience Preferences:
- Fostering/children’s social care management (5+ years desirable).
- Working Conditions:
- Intermittent overnight travel may be required occasionally.
