Foundation Programme and Medical Education Administrator
Administrative Support Officer (Foundation Doctors & Medical Educators) – Peterborough City Hospital
About the Role
Support the Foundation Doctors, Foundation Training Programme Director (FTPD), Deputy Foundation Programme Director (DFPD), and other senior medical educators—including the Medical & Dental Education Manager and Director of Medical Education (DME)—by providing efficient, responsive and professional administrative assistance within Peterborough City Hospital.
The role ensures:
- Local Foundation Programme compliance with national curriculum and NHS England guidelines
- Effective implementation of electronic portfolios (Horus) and rigorous appraisal processes
- Collaborative support for postgraduate medical education, including training programmes for Resident Doctors
Key Responsibilities
Foundation Programme Specialist Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for Foundation Doctors (themes 1B) across Peterborough Hospital Site (face-to-face, phone, email, MS Teams, paper-based).
- Provide detailed guidance on:
- Training programme assessments
- Preparation for ARCP (Annual Review of Competence Progression)
- Horus e-portfolio usage and compliance
- Manage appointments and diary support for:
- The Foundation Training Programme Director
- The Deputy Foundation Programme Director
- Facilitate room set-up and materials preparation for training sessions, seminars and meetings.
- Coordinate bookings via Cloud Booking system and organise virtual meeting spaces.
- Assist with:
- Simulation training & crisis scenarios (delegated collaborations with the Simulation Administrator)
- Virtual Reality (VR) faculty teaching
- EMTALS training bookings via the RESUS Department

Medico-Educational Reporting & Team Collaboration
- Deliver weekly reports, tailored information, and evidence to the Medical Education Manager and Hazirah Din (Medical Education Team Leader) before key meetings.
- Compile and distribute detailed advice, troubleshooting and contextual summaries related to:
- ePortfolio status updates
- Training gaps and system issues
