Founding Business Development Executive
£40,000 - £50,000 + commission structure
Early-stage technology startup | remote
I’m working with an exciting early-stage technology company that is building something genuinely new. Their technology combines behavioural science, sensing technology and machine learning to understand human interaction in ways that could transform industries including gaming, mental health, wellbeing and digital experiences.
They are now looking for their first commercial hire to help explore where this technology creates the biggest impact and build the foundations of their commercial journey. This is not a traditional Business Development role. There is no established sales process, no large CRM full of accounts and no playbook to follow. You’ll be joining a small, ambitious team where you’ll have the opportunity to build something from nothing, researching markets, identifying the right organisations, starting conversations and helping the founders understand where the biggest opportunities are.
The Role
Working closely with the founders, you’ll help discover where the technology has the strongest potential by building relationships with organisations across different industries. Your role will combine research, outreach, relationship building and commercial problem-solving.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
