Founding Engineer — Wellbeing Intelligence
London
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience; but well paid + equity
You've built something from zero before. Not joined post-product-market fit, not inherited a system that already worked. You started with a blank page, made the calls, and watched it scale.
We're working with a fast-growing wellness technology company that's moving from e-commerce into a genuine intelligence platform, using biometric and health data to power truly personalised guidance at scale.
This is a founding-level engineering role. You'll own the architecture of the wellbeing intelligence stack from first principles, backend, data, ML, infrastructure that learns from live user behaviour, and you'll partner directly with the CTO on technical direction. Not advisory. Real authority.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for:
- A strong academic background, Oxbridge, Imperial, or equivalent top-tier institutions

- Experience architecting a system from scratch and living with the consequences of those decisions
- Production experience with ML/data-driven systems, shipped and used, not experimental
- A founder mentality: high ambition, comfortable with ambiguity, ready to build the next thing rather than maintain the last one
