Founding Engineer / CTO

Founding Engineer / CTO – AI & Industry Intelligence (Substantial Equity Stake)

Location: Global / Remote (with international travel) Engagement: Flexible Part-Time to Full-Time (Tiered Arrangement)

The Opportunity: Ground Zero

Are you an elite backend engineer who's tired of building someone else's dream? Are you seeking true ownership, a seat at the co-founding table, and a multi-year journey to disrupt a massive, opaque global industry?

We’ve partnered with a disruptive pre-seed intelligence platform that will bring transparency, AI-driven decision-making, and automation to an industry ripe for revolution. The foundational MVP is built. The vision is clear—but we need a technical co-founder to:

  • Harden the architecture
  • Scale the product
  • Co-lead the company through upcoming funding rounds

This isn’t a traditional corporate CTO role. For the first 12–16 months, you’ll be the sole technical powerhouse, writing code and architecting the backend. Later, you’ll transition into leadership—hiring and directing your own high-performing engineering team.

What You Will Do

  • Architect & Build: Own the backend from the ground up using Python and FastAPI. You’ll design infrastructure, data pipelines, and API architecture.
  • AI Integration: Craft and implement the core AI/ML features that power the platform’s intelligence layer.
  • Scale & Drive: Collaborate directly with the founder to evolve the MVP into a hardened, enterprise-ready product ready for public release.
  • Investor Relations: Be the technical face of the company—key to investor conversations and funding rounds.
  • Build the Team: From months 16–24, scale, hire, and mentor your future engineering team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
