London (Hybrid) | Competitive Salary + Meaningful Equity
Founding Software Engineer | Founding Team of 15

Build the company you'll wish you'd joined on day one.

The best Founding Engineer opportunities don't come around often. This is one of them.

We're working with a well-funded product company that's building the next generation of software in a market ready for transformation. They've already raised significant backing from top-tier investors and are assembling an engineering team capable of building something genuinely category-defining.

The founders know exactly what they're doing. They've built in this space before, achieved a major exit and have a deep understanding of both the technology and the customers they're building for. They aren't experimenting—they're executing.

Now they're looking for exceptional engineers to help build the company from the ground up.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Join at the earliest stage with genuine ownership of both the product and technical direction.
  • Meaningful equity in a business built for long-term success.
  • Work with an exceptional engineering team from companies including Meta, Tessian and other world-class product and infrastructure businesses.
  • Product-first culture where engineers shape what gets built—not just how it's built.
  • Backed by leading investors with the funding to build properly from day one.
  • Small, high-calibre team with an incredibly high talent bar and no unnecessary hierarchy.
  • Solve difficult technical problems using modern technologies, AI and scalable distributed systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll be doing

  • Building core product features from the ground up.
  • Making foundational technical decisions that will shape the platform for years to come.
  • Working across the stack where needed, with the freedom to own problems end-to-end.
  • Collaborating directly with founders, designers and early customers.
  • Helping establish the engineering culture, tooling and best practices.
  • Moving quickly, shipping often and solving meaningful customer problems.

What they're looking for

They're far more interested in exceptional engineers than ticking boxes.

You might have experience with:

  • Building scalable products at high-growth startups or leading technology companies.
  • Modern backend or full-stack development.
  • Distributed systems, cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
  • AI, machine learning or data-intensive applications.
  • Product thinking and a passion for building software users genuinely love.
  • Taking ownership, thriving in ambiguity and enjoying the pace of early-stage companies.

Most importantly, they're looking for engineers who want to build something ambitious alongside equally ambitious people.

Why join now?

This is the stage where every line of code matters.

You'll help define the architecture, influence the product, shape the engineering culture and play a major role in building a company from the earliest days. If successful, the impact you'll have—and the upside you'll share in—will be impossible to replicate by joining later.

If you're excited by the idea of working with one of the strongest technical teams in the startup ecosystem, solving difficult product problems and building something from zero to category leader, I'd love to tell you more.
