Founding Engineer / Technical Lead
London · £160,000 + equity + bonus

I'm recruiting for an early-stage mobility infrastructure business that is quietly building something significant at the intersection of payments, vehicle telematics, and location intelligence.

This is the first engineering hire (employee number one on the technical side) working directly alongside the founder to take the product from its current state to a fully built, scalable platform.

What you'll be building

  • The MVP and core product, from first principles
  • A geospatial decision engine that detects when vehicles enter chargeable zones in real time
  • Integrations with telematics providers, OEM APIs, and payment systems
  • Billing and payment orchestration infrastructure
  • Scalable backend services and APIs that will form the foundation of the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Experience in one or more of: fintech/payments, geospatial systems, fleet/telematics, or mobility
  • Someone comfortable making technical decisions with limited information and limited resources
