About GameXcel
GameXcel is building the future of Player Intelligence for the games industry. Our platform helps game studios recruit engaged players, run structured playtests, collect high-quality feedback, and transform player insights into actionable decisions through AI-powered workflows and intelligent analytics.
Our mission is simple: help studios build better games by making player research faster, smarter, and more accessible.
We're an early-stage GameTech startup preparing for our pre-seed funding round. We're already growing a community of founding players and validating the platform with the games industry as we build the next generation of player research.
We're now looking for our first engineering hire to help shape the future of GameXcel.
The Opportunity
As our Founding Full-Stack Engineer, you'll work directly with the founder to bring GameXcel's vision to life.
This is more than a development role. You'll be one of the first people shaping the technical foundation of the company, building a platform designed to become essential infrastructure for game studios.
As our first engineering hire, you'll have significant influence over our technical architecture, engineering standards, and how we scale the platform.
We value engineers who think critically, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute ideas that improve the product while staying aligned with its long-term vision.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just write code, they care about building products that people genuinely love using and embrace modern AI-assisted development to build faster and smarter.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain the GameXcel platform across the full stack.
- Develop scalable frontend and backend systems.
- Build secure APIs and scalable data architecture.
- Develop AI-powered features that transform player feedback into actionable insights.
- Integrate AI models, automation workflows, and third-party services.
- Transform product ideas and Figma designs into polished, production-ready experiences.
- Work closely with the founder to turn player and studio feedback into product improvements.
- Improve workflows, usability, accessibility, and overall product quality.
- Help define engineering standards, architecture, and development best practices.
- Leverage modern AI development tools to accelerate development while maintaining high-quality, maintainable code.
- Contribute thoughtful technical and UX ideas while collaborating closely with the founder.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
