General Intelligence Holdings is building an AI-native accountancy group.
Our model combines the acquisition of established UK accountancy firms with Applied, our technology platform for turning real professional workflows and practitioner feedback into specialist AI systems that become more capable over time.
We are looking for an exceptional accountancy operator to turn that thesis into a working operating model.
The Role
You will build and run the accountancy side of GIH alongside our deal and technology teams. This is not an advisory position.
You will work directly with practitioners, design partners and acquired firms to understand how work is completed, identify where technology can improve performance and ensure those improvements work safely in practice.
Your initial priorities will be to:
- Recruit and work with three to five accountancy design partners
- Map high-volume workflows across bookkeeping, accounts preparation, tax and audit preparation
- Establish operational baselines covering delivery time, capacity, rework, margins and revenue per employee
- Work with our technical team to deploy Applied with practising accountants
- Measure its effect on accuracy, productivity and financial performance
- Help assess and select GIH’s first acquisition
- Lead operational diligence on acquisition targets
- Create the integration playbook and common operating system for the group
- Improve performance without compromising quality, staff engagement or client service
- Recruit and lead the central accountancy operations team as GIH grows

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We Are Looking For
You have already operated successfully inside the UK accountancy industry.
You may currently be, or previously have been:
- A managing partner of an accountancy firm
- A COO or operations director within a multi-office accountancy group
- A regional managing partner with full P&L responsibility
- A senior operator who has integrated acquired accountancy practices
- An entrepreneurial practice leader ready to build something from the beginning
You should have:
- A strong understanding of how accountancy firms actually deliver work
- Experience managing people, clients, quality and financial performance
- Responsibility for a meaningful operating P&L
- Evidence of improving margins, productivity or service delivery
- The credibility to work with firm owners and senior practitioners

ACA, ACCA or equivalent experience would be valuable, but your operating record matters more than the letters after your name.

This Will Suit Someone Who
- Wants to build rather than advise
- Believes AI will reshape professional services but understands that implementation must begin with real work
- Is excited by the combination of operations, technology and acquisitions
- Can bring experienced practitioners with them rather than imposing change from above
- Wants meaningful responsibility, equity and long-term participation in the value they create
Why GIH
Most AI companies build from demonstrations. Most accountancy consolidators create scale without fundamentally changing how work is delivered.
GIH is bringing the two together.
We will prove the technology with practising accountants, acquire carefully, measure the impact on our own P&L and deploy each successful improvement across the group.
The successful candidate will help design and lead the operating system on which GIH is built.
To express an interest, please send me a private message covering:
- The accountancy business or operation you have led
- The scale of your responsibility
- Your experience integrating acquisitions or implementing operational change
- What you would build differently in an accountancy firm today
