Company Overview

AI is driving data centre power consumption to more than double β€” from ~460 TWh today to a projected 1,000 TWh by 2030, roughly the electricity consumption of Japan! Hyperscalers and AI companies are racing to secure compute capacity, while new grid connections in key markets are queued years out. Meanwhile, capacity sits stranded in existing infrastructure β€” managed through outdated models that were never built to handle the power-dense workloads coming rapidly down the pipe.

Zendo is developing the operating layer that enables operators to get more value from every watt. Our Energy OS platform brings together operational data, energy intelligence, and proprietary load forecasting across the data centre power stack to help operators access more capacity, sooner.

We’ve been building at pace to match the urgency of the capacity crunch, with some great traction so far:

  • Raised $2M+ in pre-seed funding from Fly Ventures, Pact, and Octopus Ventures, with angels from Google and across the data centre industry
  • Live with several UK data centre customers, with a pipeline to grow across the market
  • A founding team combining deep energy, B2B software, and data centre infrastructure expertise β€” ex-Octopus Energy, Square, Meta

This is an opportunity to join us on the ground floor, work directly with the founders, and grow with the business as we build Zendo into a true category leader on the frontlines of an industry undergoing the largest infrastructure build out in history.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right β€” and where to focus when applying.

Your Role as Foundering Operator

You'll work directly with the founders across workstreams spanning from product to energy operations. This is a high-accountability role for someone with energy market experience who acts like a technical product manager β€” analytical, comfortable in the data, and able to pick up complex problems and drive projects to execution.

Examples of what you'll be working on:

  • Managing active PoCs end-to-end with customers β€” from defining project scopes, objectives, and deliverables through to data collection, on-site logistics, and execution
  • Identifying opportunities based on customer feedback and operational pain points and translating them into clear product requirements for the engineering team
  • Supporting the delivery of energy services to customers through energy data analysis and modelling
  • Building out Zendo's energy services methodology and operations β€” the repeatable processes, templates, and playbooks that underpin how we deliver the best commercial outcomes to customers
  • Supporting data analysis and reporting for live customers to drive ongoing value

What We're Looking For

  • 2-4 years of experience in a fast-paced environment (ideally a tech startup) in the energy sector.
  • Hands-on experience with energy markets and / or power systems
  • Comfortable owning end-to-end delivery β€” managing PoCs, coordinating stakeholders, and driving projects to completion
  • Comfortable working with data β€” can pull together analysis, interpret results, and present actionable findings clearly
  • Tech-lean β€” you don't need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable around technical teams and curious about how things work
  • Experience with data visualisation in Python, Vibe Coding, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Highly organised with a bias for action; you don't wait to be told what to do
  • Comfortable with ambiguity β€” we don't have all the answers yet and you should be fine with that
