Founding Platform Engineer
London (Hybrid) | Competitive + Bonus + Meaningful Equity
I'm working with a well-funded AI trading startup backed by some of Europe's top investors, looking for a Founding Platform Engineer to build and own the infrastructure powering live systematic trading.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and scale the production platform supporting live trading systems
- Build resilient cloud infrastructure across multi-region AWS environments
- Design deployment pipelines for research, models and trading strategies
- Develop observability across infrastructure, execution and data quality
- Improve resilience through failover, disaster recovery and operational readiness
- Build the infrastructure that takes research into production safely
- Own security, IAM, networking and secrets management
- Help shape low-latency ML serving infrastructure and feature pipelines

What They're Looking For
- Strong Platform, Infrastructure or SRE engineering background
- Excellent Linux, networking and cloud fundamentals
- Strong AWS experience (IAM, networking, compute, storage, observability)
- Python experience, with Go, Rust or C++ beneficial
- Kubernetes and Terraform experience
- Experience with CI/CD and release engineering
- Strong knowledge of Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis or ClickHouse
- Experience operating production systems where reliability is business critical
- Security-first mindset
