About Adexis

Adexis is a London-based frontier research lab solving dexterous manipulation. Our mission is to bring machines the power of touch on the path to physical general intelligence, bringing about a future of abundance.

We are building a lean, talent dense organisation, inspired by history's great groups — the Manhattan Project, Apollo, Bell Labs, Skunkworks — where aggregating outlier individuals drove collective output that changed history.

We are backed by leading investors, and researchers from Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Google Deepmind and more.

Robotics Engineer - Systems and Sensing

As a founding hire, you will build the real-time systems that connect our models to the physical world: the inference node that runs policies on hardware and the sensor nodes that feed perception and contact data back in. If the research is the brain, you build the nervous system.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll do

  • Build and own the inference node: take a trained policy and run it on a real robot under hard real-time constraints.
  • Build sensor nodes that acquire, synchronize, and stream multi-modal data — including high-rate contact and force signals — with tight timing guarantees.
  • Own synchronization and latency across the stack; make sure every signal is where it needs to be when it needs to be there.
  • Integrate hardware — arms, hands, and sensors — into one reliable system, and build the tooling that makes data collection and deployment repeatable.
  • Be the bridge between research and hardware: turn a model that works in a notebook into something that runs on a robot all day.

  • Have built real-time robotics systems and shipped them onto hardware that runs reliably, not just in a demo.
  • Are fluent in low-latency systems programming and the realities of sensor timing, synchronization, and drift.
  • Have integrated unfamiliar sensors and actuators from datasheet to working node.
  • Care about robustness and clean interfaces — other people's research depends on your systems not flaking.
  • Bonus: real-time control, high-rate sensor pipelines, distributed data acquisition, hardware bring-up.

We seek a high ownership individual up to the task. This is a founding research role and will be compensated accordingly with equity.
