Mission
Every month, drones injure and kill thousands of Ukrainians. Munin builds point-defense systems to stop them. Our first product is a hand-launched micro-missile designed to intercept small drones at close range. It is small enough to carry three in a vest and cheap enough for mass deployment. Our goal is to change the battlefield in Ukraine through very high-volume production, then deliver proven systems to NATO.
Role Summary
We are hiring our first Software Engineer. You will work directly alongside the founding team to design and build the internal systems and tooling that drive how we develop, manufacture and operate at scale. You will be expected to use AI tooling as a core part of how you work, not an afterthought. The tools you build will be used on the front line.
You should expect to relocate to Kyiv soon after joining and work mostly from there, with some time in the UK. There, you will work alongside the founding engineering team and incorporate feedback from Ukrainian soldiers in the field. You will not operate near front-line areas. Work in Ukraine is conditional on a stable security situation.

What you will do
- Design and build internal systems and AI-powered tooling: fleet management, production tracking, field operations agents, and workflow automation.
- Build tooling for hardware bring-up and test automation
- Set up version control and CI/CD pipelines for firmware and software, with traceability from code to physical unit
- Stand up the servers, network, and infrastructure the team runs on
- Automate repetitive engineering workflows across the team
What we're looking for
- You are the kind of engineer who has side projects running at all times, gets frustrated when tools don't exist and just builds them, and would rather ship something imperfect today than wait for perfect requirements.
- Proven ability to ship working software end-to-end
- Comfortable owning ambiguous problems with no existing codebase to inherit
- Strong product instinct - you listen to the team and build what’s needed.
- Uses AI tooling actively to move faster and multiply output.
- High personal drive and tolerance for fast-paced, intense work periods
Nice to have
- Exposure to hardware environments
- Firmware experience
- Startup or early-stage company experience
- Personal software projects outside work or university
- Military or defence background

Credibility
In four months, we went from concept to a robust missile prototype that is smaller and cheaper than anything comparable, can be fired with one hand and reliably intercepts FPV drones. Recent work includes:
- Working with the Ukrainian armed forces to go from pre-idea to warhead design, production and live-fire testing in 24 hours
- Car-mounted missile testing at 200 km/h
- Building an air cannon in two days, then destructively testing 50 missiles to diagnose a hardware issue
- Six launches in a single day, with design iterations between each launch
