Foundry Operator (3 shift rotation)
Foundry Operative – Centrifugal Casting
About the Role
Due to growing demand, we are looking for number of Foundry Operatives to work on a new 3-shift pattern. Responsible for manufacturing centrifugally cast products.
What We Offer
- Permanent Full-time work
- 37 hours per week
- Salary of £31,697.90 (once fully trained, inclusive of shift allowances)
- Full training provided
Principle Accountabilities
- Pour molten metal into spinning dies.
- Monitor temperatures of moulds and molten steel as directed by the chargehand.
- Complete manufacture of castings and removal from the die using hand tools and manual handling techniques.
- Prepare refractory materials for use in manufacturing.
- Set up moulds, cups, and ladles as directed by the chargehand to begin tube manufacture.
- Brush out and spray up production moulds.
- Grind moulds and tubes as directed.
- Stamp tubes to maintain traceability.
- Take test samples as directed by the chargehand.
- Lift and sling moulds, tubes, and containers using cranes.
- Conduct 5S housekeeping and implement Operator PPM.
- Work safely in line with Paralloy’s safety standards and procedures.

Key Skills & Experience Required
- Previous manufacturing or factory experience
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
- Adaptable and flexible attitude to work
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong understanding of:
- Health & safety
- Environmental issues
- Quality rules
- Experience working in a team environment
- Pendant crane, lifting and slinging experience (advantageous)
- Foundry experience (advantageous)
