Job Title: FP&A Data Analyst

Location: Durrington (hybrid working – minimum two days per week in the office)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience

About The Role

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for turning data into meaningful insights?

We’re looking for a proactive FP&A Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team at Southern Water. In this pivotal role, you’ll support two FP&A Managers and work closely with Finance Business Partners (FBPs), helping to ensure the accuracy, quality and insight of financial data, systems and reporting.

You’ll be heavily involved in data extraction, manipulation and reporting, contributing to month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting and the production of management and Board-level reports. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical finance skills, gain exposure across different business areas and build a strong foundation for a long-term finance career.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Supporting the month-end close process for multiple business functions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Extracting, manipulating and inputting data from finance systems (including TM1), Excel and other internal tools.
  • Producing and circulating regular and ad hoc financial files and reports, delivering meaningful analysis, investigations, and insights.
  • Assisting with forecasting and annual budgeting cycles.
  • Support in the production of internal and external reports (including Board-level outputs) using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Providing general analytical and reporting support to the wider FP&A team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
