Your Job:
The FP&A System Implementation Lead will own the FP&A workstream for the implementation of the new FP&A system, ensuring the solution is aligned to business requirements, supports future-state FP&A processes and maintains financial integrity.
The role will act as the key FP&A interface with Technology, stakeholders and the implementation partner, leading requirements definition, process and data design, testing, business sign-off, go-live readiness and transition to BAU. The role will also support change adoption and identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting quality, control and efficiency across FP&A.
Duties:

- Lead engagement with Finance, Technology and other key stakeholders to gather, challenge and prioritise requirements, ensuring the solution is outcome-led and aligned to business needs.
- Define and embed future-state FP&A processes, workflows, ownership and controls, ensuring the new system supports efficient planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
- Oversee the design and validation of key financial data structures, including chart of accounts, cost centre hierarchies, allocation logic, planning dimensions, reporting outputs and reconciliations to source systems.
- Coordinate finance testing, reconciliation and business sign-off, ensuring system outputs are accurate, controlled and fit for use before deployment.
- Support change management, communications, user training and adoption activities to ensure the new FP&A system is successfully embedded into business-as-usual processes.
- Lead finance input into go-live readiness and transition to BAU, identifying opportunities for further automation, reporting enhancement and process simplification.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
