About the Role
This role sits within the FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) function, combining core financial planning, analysis, and business partnering with a strong focus on enhancing reporting, automation, and data visualisation.
The FP&A professional will drive improvements in how financial information is produced, analysed, and communicated, leveraging tools such as Power BI and Power Automate to:
- Boost efficiency
- Reduce manual processes
- Deliver insightful, decision-ready outputs for senior stakeholders
The role is hands-on, requiring both strong technical FP&A expertise and the ability to design and implement practical improvements in reporting and analytical processes.
Key Responsibilities
FP&A & Reporting
- Lead critical aspects of the monthly management accounts and reporting cycle, ensuring:
- Accuracy
- Timeliness
- High-quality, actionable insights
- Produce and continuously enhance management reporting packs, including:
- Variance analysis
- Commentary for senior stakeholders
- Support financial reporting to Group ExComs and Boards, delivering clear and concise narratives
- Play a leading role in budgeting and rolling forecast processes, including:
- Scenario analysis
- Run-rate analysis
- Provide proactive financial analysis to identify:
- Risks
- Opportunities
- Key business drivers

Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted finance partner for stakeholders across the business (e.g., Commercial, Operations, HR, Technology)
- Supply decision support and analysis for >>Director / VP<< level stakeholders
- Translate complex financial data into clear, commercially meaningful insights
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to improve understanding of financial performance
Process Improvement, Automation & Capability Building (~40%)
- Drive the automation and optimisation of FP&A processes, reducing manual effort
- Design and build Power BI dashboards to enhance reporting and enable self-service analytics
- Implement automated reporting solutions using:
- Power BI
- Power Automate
- Excel
- Reduce reporting cycle times and manual interventions, particularly during month-end
- Partner with Technology/Data teams to improve:
- Data quality
- Accessibility
- Reporting infrastructure
- Support and coach team members in:
- Adopting new tools
- Improving data literacy
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Develop and share best practice approaches in reporting and analysis
Requirements
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE), with experience in FP&A or commercial finance roles
Technical Skills & Experience
Required:
- Advanced Excel (financial modelling, complex formulas, data manipulation, ideally VBA)
- Strong PowerPoint skills (ability to deliver board-level presentations)
- Power BI (essential – dashboard development, data modelling with DAX, report automation)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday or similar)
- Experience with planning tools (e.g., Hyperion or similar) Desirable:
- Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow tools
- Exposure to SQL or Python for data extraction and automation
- Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources
