FPGA Engineer | VHDL | SystemVerilog | Hybrid Working

FPGA Engineer Advanced Imaging Technology

We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing advanced imaging systems used across a variety of specialist applications and industries worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge FPGA development projects, taking ownership from initial concept and specification through to implementation, validation, testing, and ongoing product support. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-performance imaging solutions and contribute to the development of next-generation technology products.

The role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a highly collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement FPGA solutions for advanced imaging and vision-based systems
  • Take ownership of FPGA design projects throughout the full product lifecycle
  • Develop FPGA firmware using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog
  • Produce technical specifications, design documentation and implementation plans
  • Support FPGA simulation, verification, validation and testing activities
  • Work with high-speed digital interfaces and advanced FPGA architectures
  • Collaborate with hardware, software and systems engineering teams
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Support continuous product improvement and new technology development

Skills & Experience

  • Commercial experience in FPGA design and development
  • Strong VHDL and/or SystemVerilog programming skills
  • Experience with AMD (Xilinx), Intel (Altera) and/or Lattice FPGA technologies
  • Knowledge of FPGA verification, simulation and debugging methodologies
  • Experience working with high-speed digital interfaces and embedded hardware systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline preferred
