Job Description: FPGA Engineer
We’re partnering with a leading technology business at the forefront of professional audio innovation, looking to hire an FPGA Engineer to help develop ultra-low-latency audio platforms used in demanding live environments worldwide.
This is a hands-on engineering role working across architecture, FPGA development, DSP implementation, verification, and hardware integration on cutting-edge real-time audio systems.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Designing FPGA-based audio engines focused on ultra-low latency and high performance
- Developing DSP features and advanced audio routing functionality
- Implementing communication between audio systems and external devices
- Writing clean, testable VHDL and supporting software
- Verifying designs using simulation and industry-standard methodologies
- Collaborating closely with electronics and systems engineers on overall architecture
- Supporting hardware bring-up, schematic reviews, and component selection
- Producing clear technical documentation to support maintainability and scalability

What We’re Looking For
- Commercial experience in FPGA, DSP, or low-level firmware development
- Strong VHDL development skills
- Solid understanding of digital signal processing
- Knowledge of high-speed digital design, memory architectures, clocking, and data movement
- Experience with audio and serial interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and I2S
- Comfortable working within cross-functional and geographically distributed engineering teams
- Genuine interest in audio technology and real-time systems

- Xilinx FPGA platforms and toolchains
- Audio-over-IP technologies such as Dante or AES67
- Ethernet and networking fundamentals
- SHARC or DSP programming experience
- C/C++ development alongside HDL
- Embedded Linux or bootloader exposure
- Experience working on professional audio or digital mixing products
