Fra Carpenter Position

Dorset Healthcare Estates and Facilities Directorate is seeking to appoint a conscientious and self-motivated Fra Carpenter to our delivery team based at our office and workshop facilities in Wareham.

Role Overview

As a Fra Carpenter, you will deliver pre-planned maintenance, fire safety, and quality repair services to a variety of Trust premises, including hospitals, health centers, mental health in-patient units, and administrative buildings across Dorset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist fire safety carpentry work, including installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire doors, frames, and associated components to meet current legislation and British Standards.
  • Undertake fire stopping works, sealing gaps and penetrations to maintain fire compartmentation and ensure building safety compliance.
  • Deliver a high-quality planned and reactive maintenance service across the Trust’s estate, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical and operational services.
  • Complete a wide range of general carpentry and maintenance tasks, including repairs to doors, windows, flooring, roofing, and other building elements.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation, including use of mobile systems and certification requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Estates staff, ward teams, and external contractors to support safe and effective service delivery.
  • Plan and prioritize own workload, responding promptly to urgent repairs and participating in an on-call rota when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
