About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for a skilled FRA Specialist Carpenter to join our Repairs Service team, carrying out essential fire safety repairs, upgrades, and refurbishment works across our housing stock and other Council-owned properties. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will use your carpentry expertise to identify and resolve fire safety issues, from inspecting and upgrading fire doors to carrying out repairs and replacements that ensure compliance with current fire regulations and standards. Working in both occupied and void properties, you will play a vital role in helping to keep residents safe while delivering high-quality repairs and improvements.

We are seeking a professional who takes pride in delivering excellent workmanship and achieving a "Right First Time" approach. You will be confident diagnosing building faults, determining effective and cost-efficient solutions, and working independently while maintaining excellent communication with colleagues, residents, and stakeholders. Alongside your technical skills, you will be committed to providing outstanding customer service, ensuring residents are kept informed and treated with respect throughout the delivery of works.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from responsive repairs to larger planned refurbishment programmes, while contributing to the Council’s commitment to maintaining safe, high-quality homes. If you are a qualified carpenter with experience of fire safety works, a strong understanding of current regulations and standards, and a commitment to delivering quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, we would love to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
