About the business
This firm advises organisations facing complex reputational challenges across sectors including healthcare, education, insurance, legal services, charities and the public sector. It has grown strongly through referrals and long standing relationships, and is now evolving from reactive crisis work toward a proactive reputational risk advisory positioning.
The opportunity
This is not a lead generation role. The business strategy is already set. What's needed is a marketing leader who can translate that strategy into a coherent commercial function, and who is equally comfortable setting direction and doing the hands on work to get there.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll be doing
- Building a practical 12 to 24 month marketing plan aligned to the wider business strategy
- Reaching senior decision makers beyond the firm's established referral routes
- Turning a strong but under engaged network of legal relationships into a regular rhythm of events and touchpoints
- Elevating the brand, look, feel and messaging
- Coaching and directing the existing in-house team so the plan is owned and run internally
- Reviewing website, collateral, thought leadership and content strategy
- Building marketing KPIs, planning processes and reporting
About you
You'll have held a senior marketing role, such as CMO, Marketing Director, Chief Growth Officer or Fractional CMO, within a professional services, consultancy, advisory or other knowledge-based business. Firms such as law practices, insurance or risk businesses, PR and communications agencies, or management consultancies are all a strong fit. A consumer-only marketing experience is unlikely to translate. Experience with a top-tier consultancy, or scaling a business from around £1m to £5m plus turnover, would be a strong signal.
