Fractional Financial Controller | VC-Backed SaaS Scale-Up | London / Hybrid | Part-Time (3 Days Per Week) | 6 Month contract

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with a VC-backed subscription tech scale-up to find an Interim Financial Controller. The business is going through a period of significant change, with finance leadership remits expanding and real ownership on offer for the right person. This is a genuinely broad brief in a business where you will see the direct impact of your work.

The Role

This is a six-month interim engagement, initially three days per week, with scope to flex depending on business needs. Reporting into the senior finance leader, this is a broad position where you will not only own the financial control side of the function: month-end close, management accounts, and preparation for the annual audit, which kicks off in mid-August. You will also sit close to commercial finance, working with the commercial team on KPI reporting and business partnering across the business. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
