Fractional Financial Director

Fractional Finance Director - 3 Days per Week - 6 Months - West London

A well-established SME manufacturing business with steady growth is seeking an experienced Fractional Finance Director for a newly created role. You will provide senior financial leadership during a critical period of development.

The role involves collaborating with founders, overseeing the current finance team, and focusing on improving:

  • Management information
  • FP&A (Finance Planning & Analysis)
  • Reviewing current processes, systems, and controls

You will drive meaningful change, providing short- and long-term financial recommendations while being primarily on-site in West London. Parking facilities are available.

Responsibilities

You will lead and support the finance function by integrating effective financial discipline alongside commercial insight:

  • Strengthen financial governance, controls, and reporting for enhanced transparency
  • Assess current finance systems and processes for areas of improvement
  • Implement robust, efficient processes to enhance accuracy and operational performance
  • Improve management information, empowering data-driven decision-making
  • Ensure UK GAAP compliance in costing models and product margins
  • Deliver high-quality financial reporting to the Board, including clear KPIs and performance dashboards
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
  • Position finance as a proactive partner to operations and commercial teams

Key Experience & Skills Required

  • Essential: Finance Director-level experience specifically in manufacturing environments
  • Expertise in manufacturing finance, including costing, stock control, and margin analysis
  • Proven ability to operate in factory-based/operational settings, working closely with on-site teams
  • Experience assessing systems, identifying weaknesses, and implementing practical, on-site improvements
  • Strong commercial acumen with expertise in business planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
