IT services consulting - Fractional IT Manager
The Consultant will provide ongoing IT and systems support services to Our Common Home and its associated entities, ensuring smooth day-to-day technical operations, reliable systems maintenance, user support and effective management of organisational data and digital infrastructure.
The support is intended to strengthen operational continuity, improve internal efficiency and ensure the organisation’s systems and tools remain functional, secure and appropriately maintained across a globally distributed team.
Scope of services
The Consultant will provide support across the following areas:
- Systems administration and maintenance
- Data management and organisation
- Security and access management
- Operational and technical support
Deliverables
IT help desk and user support
- Provide day-to-day technical support to team members across the organisation.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and systems-related issues.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes from an IT perspective.
- Assist with account setup, permissions and access management.
- Respond to and resolve user-reported technical issues in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance to staff on the use of organisational tools and systems.
- Maintain and monitor core organisational systems and platforms.
- Support ongoing maintenance, updates and troubleshooting across relevant IT infrastructure.
- Ensure systems remain operational, functional and appropriately configured.
- Coordinate with third-party providers or vendors where necessary.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify operational risks or inefficiencies.
- Support the organisation, maintenance and integrity of organisational data and digital records.
- Assist in structuring and maintaining shared drives, databases and internal documentation systems.
- Support data hygiene and consistency across platforms and tools.
- Assist with backup, recovery and data retention practices where relevant.
- Contribute to improving internal data management processes and workflows.
- Support implementation and maintenance of basic IT security practices.
- Assist with user access management and permissions across systems.
- Help monitor and reduce operational and security risks related to organisational systems and data.
- Support secure handling and storage of organisational information.
- Provide ad-hoc technical troubleshooting and operational support as needed.
- Assist with setup and coordination of digital tools used across teams and projects.
- Support improvements to internal workflows, automation or operational efficiency where appropriate.
- Provide recommendations on systems improvements, integrations or technical solutions aligned with organisational needs.

The Consultant will provide:

- Ongoing IT help desk and technical support services.
- Maintenance and monitoring of organisational systems and digital infrastructure.
- Support for onboarding/offboarding and user access management.
- Data organisation, maintenance and related operational support.
- Troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues across teams.
- Recommendations for improvements to systems, workflows and IT practices where relevant.
- Coordination with external IT vendors or providers where required.
Time commitment
- The engagement will operate under a B2B consulting agreement structure.
- The expected time commitment will initially be approximately 2–3 days per week.
- Support will be provided on a flexible basis depending on organisational priorities and operational needs.
- Work will be billed on a monthly basis.
- Specific workload distribution and priorities may evolve over time based on organisational requirements and project demands.
