We're recruiting talented individuals to join our growing Counter Fraud team. Through one application and one interview, you'll be considered for one of two specialist permanent roles, where you'll help protect the AA, our customers and the wider insurance industry from fraud.

Working alongside colleagues across the business, insurers, law enforcement and industry partners, you'll investigate suspected fraud, make evidence-based decisions and help deliver the right outcomes for our customers.

This is the job

Location: Hybrid – Newcastle or Cardiff 2 days per week in the office

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive salary

Both roles are permanent, hybrid positions and can be based from either our Newcastle or Cardiff office.

What will I be doing?

Responsibilities

Depending on the role you're appointed to, you'll help identify, investigate and prevent fraud across the insurance customer journey. Responsibilities may include:

  • Investigating suspected fraud across underwriting, policy applications, claims and operational referrals.
  • Managing end-to-end fraud investigations using intelligence, data analysis and fraud prevention systems.
  • Reviewing documentation to identify fraud indicators and policy misrepresentation.
  • Preparing investigation reports, fraud intelligence submissions and witness statements.
  • Making evidence-based decisions in line with legislation, underwriting principles and business policy.
  • Liaising with insurers, law enforcement, the Insurance Fraud Bureau and other industry partners.
  • Supporting colleagues across Claims, Contact Centres, Patrol Operations and Underwriting.
  • Managing multiple investigations while achieving service levels and productivity targets.
  • Identifying emerging fraud trends and contributing to continuous improvement.

What do I need?

We're looking for analytical, customer-focused professionals who enjoy investigating complex issues and making informed decisions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently.
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Customer-focused approach with strong stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within insurance, fraud or another regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of underwriting fraud, application fraud or counter-fraud practices.
  • Experience using fraud prevention software and intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of CIDRA, GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
  • Experience working with law enforcement or insurance industry bodies.
