Fraud and Risk Manager

Nisbets Limited are currently recruiting for a Fraud and Risk Manager to join our Finance team, leading the development and delivery of robust fraud prevention, risk management, and financial control frameworks across the business. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding company assets, reducing risk exposure, and ensuring effective operational controls are embedded throughout the organisation.

As a Fraud and Risk Manager at Nisbets, you will take ownership of our fraud monitoring framework, overseeing day-to-day fraud prevention activities, investigations, and risk assessments. You will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Credit Control, IT, Sales, Operations, and Accounts Payable to strengthen controls, improve processes, and ensure risks are effectively identified and mitigated.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You will be responsible for leading a team, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and providing meaningful fraud, risk, and control reporting to senior leadership and board-level audiences.

This role will be based at our Fourth Way office in Avonmouth with opportunities to collaborate across the wider business to support the delivery of strong governance and fraud prevention standards. This role will also follow a hybrid model once a period of training is completed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Nisbets' fraud prevention, monitoring, and response strategy.
  • Monitor transactional activity to identify suspicious trends, unusual behaviour, and potential fraud risks.
  • Own and manage the end-to-end fraud monitoring framework, including high-risk transaction reviews, fraud checks, exception reporting, and escalation processes.
  • Lead customer and supplier onboarding controls, ensuring robust due diligence, governance, and approval processes are consistently applied.
  • Work closely with the Credit Control Manager on credit limit reviews, customer master data governance, account closures, and related account controls.
  • Lead investigations into suspected fraud incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Conduct regular fraud and risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address identified risks.
  • Design, document, and monitor internal controls, supporting audits and corporate self-assessment activities.
  • Identify emerging fraud trends, control weaknesses, and process gaps, implementing improvements to strengthen the control environment.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including banks, payment providers, law enforcement agencies, and fraud prevention networks to support prevention and recovery activities.
  • Deliver regular fraud, risk, and control reporting, including insights for senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop the teams responsible for fraud checks, customer onboarding, and supplier onboarding activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
