Freedom of Information and Complaints Support Officer

Feedback and Information Governance Support Officer

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Feedback and Information Governance Support Officer, you will be helping members of the community to access information about themselves and the council.

By resolving the concerns of some of our most vulnerable residents, you will be involved in providing a valuable service in responding to complaints and requests for information we hold about them. You will also help individuals access their records and ensure clear information is provided and that all our customers receive an effective service.

What You Will Be Doing

Working in a small supportive team, you will:

  • Collate and save records to enable a swift response to information requests and subject access requests under the Data Protection Act 2018
  • Monitor the team’s emails in Dynamics 365 to check for:
    • Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
    • Data breaches
    • MP enquiries and complaints
  • Acknowledge and allocate these requests to the relevant manager for a response, then log and monitor timeframes
  • Support in responding to enquiries from police for information and customers with queries in specific service areas by providing clear information and guidance
  • Investigate complaints and information governance issues, enhancing skills and knowledge in these areas
  • On occasion, assist team members in delivering complaints or information governance training to other council staff

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
