Freelance CAD Technician

We are looking for a freelance CAD Technician to support the delivery of measured surveys and generate CAD plans of existing buildings (predominantly residential flats) across Devon and Cornwall.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a CAD Technician
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • The ability to undertake measured surveys
  • Ability to:
    • manage workload
    • estimate drawing times
    • meet deadlines
  • Strong team-working skills, with the ability to:
    • collaborate effectively across disciplines and offices
  • A proactive approach to identifying and improving workflows and processes

  • Undertake measured surveys
  • Prepare and develop 2D CAD drawings, including:
    • general arrangement drawings
    • sections
    • elevations
  • Apply sound technical judgement to ensure:
    • all drawings and models are accurate
    • clear and meet expected quality standards
  • Take responsibility for:
    • checking your own work
    • reviewing outputs (where required)
  • Ensure compliance with QA procedures
  • Deliver work to:
    • agreed timescales
    • programmes
    • budget constraints
