Looking for a super experienced commercial finance manager/ controller to support a thriving Ad agency as they go through a transition period.
You with straddle finance, commercial and support the operations team with resourcing and workflow efficiency.
This is a new role to carve out yourself, ideally converting to a permanent contract if the fit is right.
- Asap start
- £350-£400 day rate (inside IR35)
- 3 month contract- likely to roll and possible permanent opportunity
- 3 days in the central London office
The role:
Resource Forecasting
- Oversee comprehensive forecast reporting across all agency departments, providing visibility on financial performance and resource allocation delivering critical insights on revenue projections, resource gaps, and utilisation trends
- Implement standardised forecast reporting cadence, ensuring models are adaptable and data-driven
- Develop variance analysis protocols to address discrepancies between forecasted and actual performance
- Maintain headcount versus forecast analytics to drive strategic talent acquisition and resource planning
- Continuously refine workforce planning (FTE vs. freelance) to meet demand at optimal cost.

Streamline and scale operational processes across agencies for efficiency and consistency with operations leader.
Monetised Chargeability
- Drive monetised chargeability reporting—track revenue-linked utilisation and identify recovery gaps.
- Implement actionable insights to help improve billable efficiency at team, department, and agency levels.
Freelancer Strategy & Cost Control
- Create freelancer reports that will inform and help manage the process (hiring, costing, deployment) with scalable workflows.
- Help track freelance spend and ensure it aligns with budgets and project profitability targets.
Pricing & Financial Oversight
- Create pricing templates across the business and make relevant builds and revisions as instructed.
- Work with operations leader to review and maintain pricing frameworks to safeguard margins in scoping and staffing.
- Work with financial teams and operations leader to stress-test all templates and align resourcing with revenue targets.

Systems, Compliance & Scalability
- Scale and automate core operational processes (e.g., job and employee setup, forecasting, pricing templates, project tracking/scheduling) across the agency.
The person:
- Must have commercial finance experience
- Experience in a creatively focused agency
- Must have experience implementing new systems and software
- Ideally fully qualified
