Freelance Copyeditor Role
The Copyeditor will be responsible for copyediting, proofreading, and production editing of translated materials in Czech. Working closely with copywriters and creatives, the Copyeditor will perform final editing and validation of customer-facing communications materials for an exciting global brand.
Maintaining the highest possible standards of work, the ideal candidate will apply their advanced editing and linguistic skills, technical knowledge, and exceptional attention to detail to ensure clarity and accuracy across all communications.

Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread editorial, marketing, and social media copy across digital, print, and in-store communications
- Ensure a consistent tone of voice, personality, and cultural relevance for the target market
- Collaborate with validation and creative teams on high-volume projects, delivering on time with excellence — often under tight deadlines
- Leverage glossaries and style guides to align with the brand’s voice while ensuring clarity and accuracy of translations
- Maintain product and technical accuracy alongside linguistic precision
- Ensure content is appropriate and relevant for the target market
- Provide linguistic guidance to translations partners, producers, and project managers
- Continuously update knowledge of products, brands, and industry trends
Requirements
We’re looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with:
- Significant experience in a copyediting and/or subediting role within:
- A creative or marketing agency
- A controlled publication or publishing house
- Proven experience editing and proofreading marketing and communications materials for Creative or consumer brands
- Fluency in Czech with an intuitive understanding of language conventions, style, and nuances
- Familiarity with U.S. English grammar and style
- Experience working for global brands preferred
- Proficiency in translation and project management tools
- Knowledge of style guide development and maintenance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to thrive under pressure
- Unwavering attention to detail and adaptability in fast-paced environments
- Solid grasp of creative and production workflows
- Strong technical literacy and comfort working with digital teams
